About Benny Box
Founder & CEO, Coffee with Jesus Homeless Outreach
My name is Benny Box, and I am a recovering addict, a once-lost soul now saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. I spent over a decade living on the streets of Pacific Beach in San Diego, California—fully immersed in addiction and the chaos it brings. While I chose that life for a time, I quickly realized that many of those I shared it with did not have the same choice. I met countless veterans and individuals suffering from mental disabilities—people who had been chewed up and spit out by a system that had all but forgotten them.
At 17, I turned my life over to Jesus, but I didn’t fully surrender. I still walked a path of destruction until I was 28 years old. It was then, broken and tired, that I truly gave my life to Christ—and everything changed.
Since then, I’ve earned an Associate's and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, but more importantly, I’ve found purpose. The streets may no longer be my home, but they will always be a part of my story. I haven’t forgotten where I came from—and I never will.
That’s why I founded Coffee with Jesus Homeless Outreach. Our mission is rooted in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus tells us that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for Him. With a cup of coffee in hand and Christ in our hearts, we go out to serve our homeless brothers and sisters—offering not only essentials like hygiene items, warm clothing, and tents, but also the message of hope, dignity, and salvation.
I believe no one is too far gone, and everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and loved. I was once lost, but Jesus found me. Now, I live to serve those who are still searching.
