Honoring Our Heroes: Awareness & Action

Shining a light on veteran homelessness and serving those who served us.

Veterans Day at Liberty Center High School

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Coffee With Jesus Homeless Outreach (CWJHO) had the privilege of participating in the Liberty Center Veterans Day Assembly. Held at the Liberty Center Local Schools Varsity Gym, this event was a powerful opportunity to honor the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force.

But our mission went beyond celebration—it was about education. We took this opportunity to engage with students and the community, spreading awareness about a silent crisis facing our nation: Veteran Homelessness.

By sharing real statistics and having open conversations, we aim to ensure the next generation understands that while we have made progress, the fight to ensure every veteran has a home is far from over.

The Reality of Veteran Homelessness: Progress & Hope

During our outreach, we displayed critical statistics to help the community understand the scale of the issue. While the numbers are stark, there is hope. Through community action, coordination, and faith-based support, we are seeing real results.

32,882 Veterans were experiencing homelessness as of January 2024 (Point-in-Time Count).

55.6% Decrease in veteran homelessness since 2010, thanks to HUD-VA programs.

47,925 Veterans were placed into permanent housing by the VA in FY2024.

Service • Dignity • Home

We believe that the support of our community helps us reach every Veteran who needs it.

Partnering for Impact: The DVNF Winter Care Packets

We are incredibly grateful to announce our partnership with the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF). Recognizing the urgent need for winter supplies, the DVNF generously provided us with 50 Winter Care Packets.

These packets are reserved exclusively for veterans. They contain essential items designed to provide warmth, comfort, and survival support during the harsh winter months. This contribution allows us to hand out tangible "thank yous" to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
